A Journey of Healing and Balance

“Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.” – B.K.S. Iyengar

The roots of Yogasvi trace back to the early experiences of our founding family. Their grandfather, lovingly known as Bhagat Ji, was a man of wisdom and resilience. At just 45, he suffered a heart attack—a pivotal moment that led him to transform his life through discipline, nutrition, and the holistic path of yoga. Over the decades, he embraced not just yogasanas but all eight petals of yoga:

  • Yama (restraints)
  • Niyama (observances and discipline)
  • Asana (postures)
  • Pranayama (breath regulation)
  • Pratyahara (sense withdrawal)
  • Dharana (focused concentration)
  • Dhyana (meditative absorption)
  • Samadhi (bliss or enlightenment)

“Yogasana is a science, pranayama is a science, dhyana is a science, samadhi is a science. These sciences have been systematically analyzed, practiced, and taught by the great rishis.” – Swami Satyananda Saraswati (Bihar School of Yoga)

By the age of 85, Bhagat Ji could still gracefully perform advanced asanas like Sheershasana, a testament to his unwavering dedication. Despite the lack of modern conveniences like yoga mats, he would walk to a nearby garden at dawn, lay down a simple bedsheet under a tree, and practice amidst nature’s embrace. His journey ignited a deep-rooted passion for yoga within the family, inspiring them to integrate its wisdom into their daily lives.

Like many, their path to yoga wasn’t linear. Life’s distractions—college, careers, and the fast-paced modern world—often took precedence. But when health challenges arose, from backaches to thyroid concerns, they were drawn back to the ancient wisdom that had once healed their grandfather. Through dedicated practice and a deeper understanding of yoga as a holistic science, they experienced profound transformation.

“The only way out is in. If you want to know the infinite, you have to experience life beyond the physical.” – Sadhguru

At Yogasvi, we see yoga as a spiritual journey—one of self-discovery, inner balance, and connection with the higher self. While rooted in ancient traditions, our approach is universal, inclusive, and not bound to any religion.

“Do not be satisfied with a little spiritual knowledge. Enter deeply into it. Experience yoga in its totality, from the physical to the deepest meditative states.” – Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati (Bihar School of Yoga)

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” – Bhagavad Gita

We remain aspiring learners, open to all schools of yoga, and committed to sharing its timeless wisdom in a way that nurtures holistic well-being.

“When your body, mind, emotions, and energies are in tune, your very presence becomes meditative.” – Sadhguru

Our journey is one of continuous learning, balance, and healing—one that we invite you to be a part of.
